Marilyn Ulrich, Maintenance Labor Supervisor in the Office of Buildings and Grounds.
You have been with the College since 1983 and you have served in many areas such as the Provost’s Office, the Business Office, the Office of the President, and now the Office of Buildings and Grounds. In your current role, you and your staff of 16 laborers are responsible for a number of behind-the-scenes operations that can sometimes be difficult and thankless tasks, such as setting up for events, trash removal, equipment deliveries, moving furniture, mowing lawns, and ensuring that the campus’s roadways and sidewalks are safe and free of snow and ice. Although these are often monumental undertakings, as last winter’s snowfall totals will attest, you approach your job with an exceptional level of dedication and professionalism, putting in long hours until the work is completed and even staying on campus overnight during winter storms to ensure that you are around to oversee the clean-up. As a result, you have earned the respect of your staff and the admiration of many people on campus.
Today, we salute your determined commitment to keeping our campus running smoothly and efficiently, and making it a beautiful place to learn and work.
