Barbara Uszacki, College Assistant in the Macaulay Honors College.
You joined the College community eight years ago and have been working for the Honors College ever since. Your director calls you “an exceptional staff member” and uses adjectives like meticulous, organized, careful, and dependable to describe you. With the longest tenure in the office, you are the go-to person when anyone needs to know where files are, and what needs to be sent out to whom and why. You also use your exceptional organizational skills to produce necessary documents and emails, schedule meetings, and send reminders to ensure that everything runs smoothly. In addition, you have often gone the extra mile, rearranging your hours to accommodate your co-workers and working through illness to make sure that crucial tasks are completed. There is one other adjective that your Director has used to describe you: warm, and she credits your demeanor as an important factor in the Macaulay Honors College’s high acceptance rate from admitted students.
Your professionalism and commitment to your coworkers and our students inspire us all.
