Thomas Tellefsen, Professor, Department of Business.
You joined the Business faculty as an Adjunct Lecturer in 1994 and became a full Professor in 2008. You rose to the position of Chair of the Department in 2010. You received an AAS in Management from the College of Staten Island in 1979, and went on to earn a BBA in Accounting and an MBA in Marketing from Baruch College. You received your PhD in Marketing from The Graduate Center, CUNY.
Your nomination for this Dolphin Award came from no fewer than three former Business Department Chairs, who all sang your praises as a colleague, underscoring how you excel in research, service, and teaching. As a teacher, you receive impeccable student evaluations and you assumed the role as faculty adviser to the Marketing Club for many years, even training your successor. Your commitment to the College doesn’t stop there. Your service to CSI is truly exceptional, including areas such as curriculum, teaching, faculty, recruitment, and orientation. The bodies on which you’ve participated include the Curriculum Committee, the General Education Study Group, and the Middle States Committee, and you have served as Area Chair for Marketing in the Department.
Today, we celebrate your dedication to our students and our College.
