Jeffrey Coogan - College Assistant - Library, Archives and Special Collections Unit
Jeffrey has been nominated for Outstanding Job Performance and Distinguished Deed. Jeffrey contributed invaluable assistance over the course of many years to Professor Stempler’s research on the Jewish Community of Staten Island which developed into an article that was published in a scholarly journal. In addition, he went above and beyond helping with exhibits in the Library Gallery. Professor Stempler described Jeffrey as “a model of professionalism and competence— an ideal colleague.”
In addition, Jeffrey’s work assisting researchers and processing materials for the archives collection has been recognized as far exceeding any reasonable expectation for job performance. Without his contributions, it would not be possible for the archives to take on the extra projects that it does.
In the 2014 and 2015 Annual Convocations, Jeffrey was instrumental in providing valuable content from the archives which was utilized for the President’s “State of the College” audio/visual presentations which focused on the College’s legacy. Ken Iwama, Vice President of Economic Development, Continuing Studies & Government Relations, acknowledged “that because of Jeff’s contributions, the past convocations were extremely successful.”
