Cathleen McGuckin, CUNY Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs.
You began your tenure at the College of Staten Island in 1991 at the SEEK program on the Sunnyside Campus. You have been in the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs since 2008. During your tenure at the College, you have been responsible for many crucial tasks, from supervising college assistants, providing budgetary assistance, training new employees, and recruiting and processing incoming freshman in the SEEK program to overseeing the daily operations of the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, and working behind the scenes with a number of College offices to ensure that every Commencement is a success. You go above and beyond the call of duty, working long hours during the weekdays, and sometimes on the weekends, and volunteering for tasks that are not a part of your assigned duties. You have also been a member of campus search committees. Most importantly, you treat everyone who is fortunate enough to meet you, from students to faculty to staff, in a very professional, yet friendly manner.
Your dedication and humanity provide a shining example to the entire College community.
