Meagan Derbyshire
You are a junior Biochemistry and Philosophy double-major in the Macaulay Honors College with a 3.72 GPA. As a student, you have been a research assistant to Professor Alan Lyons, studying the properties of super-hydrophobic surfaces, and you have been awarded a National Science Foundation STEAM grant in support of that research. Besides being an exemplary student, you are an outstanding leader. You have been extremely active in CSI student affairs, serving as a Student Government Senator, a Student Services Commissioner, a board member of the CSI Auxiliary Services Corporation, and a CSI representative at the 2010 CUNY Women’s Leadership Conference. You have also worked to improve the lives of students and others in the community by leading the effort to create and disseminate a student satisfaction survey with the goal of improving the academic experience of undergraduates, founding the Macaulay Honors College Club service organization, and being one of the most effective and sought-after honors chemistry tutors.
We expect you to continue to shape the future of our world, as you have shaped the future of CSI, improving the lives of its citizens.
