Dolphin Awards 2011

The Dolphin Awards honor outstanding contributions to the College by faculty, staff, and students.

Joanne Nierkrash-Camhi, Senior College Laboratory Technician in the Animal Facility.<br />

You have been a member of the College community for over 15 years. Until December of 2008, you served as Assistant to the College’s Director of the College’s Animal Facility or Vivarium, Anita Conte. When Ms. Conte passed away in late 2008, you stepped up to fill the shoes of your former mentor as Interim Director. You eventually received your current title of Senior CLT and Director of the Vivarium last January. In this role, you face a unique challenge in that all of your staff members work part-time. Nonetheless, you and your dedicated staff maintain an active and compliant facility that is open seven days a week, including holidays, beyond the standard 9 to 5 shift.<br />

Your years of tireless hard work and service have been a great asset to this College, its students, and faculty.
