Dolphin Awards 2014
Dolphin Award for Outstanding Service and Contribution to the College by a Member of the Non-Teaching Instructional Staff in the HEO Title: Vito Zajda, Deputy Registrar in the Office of the Registrar
You came to the College as a College Assistant in 2002 after you received a BS in Finance from the College in 2001, and you’ve been kept yourself extremely busy in a number of functions and initiatives, including an MA in Liberal Studies that you received from CSI in 2008. You combine your duties as Deputy Registrar, which include the management of the complex and diverse operations of your office and its large staff, with service as the College’s Veterans Certifying Officer, as well as an Adjunct in the Core and English programs. You were instrumental in the significant enhancement of CSI’s veterans’ services, including the establishment of a one-stop model for veteran services that received national recognition; the implementation of our Student Veterans Club; and securing internship opportunities for student-veterans. You were also an integral part of the conversion of student records into the CUNYfirst system, an active participant in the CUNY-wide initiative to centrally archive student records, and you implemented both the online transcript ordering and non-CUNY transfer evaluation systems. If that weren’t enough of a contribution to this institution, you have been a member of a variety of Central Office and College committees. As a result of your hard work and pleasant demeanor, you are admired and respected as both a manager and teacher.
Your devotion to the College is an inspiration to us all.
