Dolphin Awards 2014
Dolphin Award for Outstanding Service and Contribution to the College by a Member of the Part-Time, Non-Teaching Staff: Joyce Adorno, Admissions Advisor, Recruiter, Office of Recruitment and Admissions
You have been a part of the Recruitment and Admissions team since January 2008, but you are also an alumna, having received your BA in Sociology-Anthropology in 2006, and the mother of a CSI student who will be completing his second Bachelor’s degree soon. Thanks to your well-developed people skills and commitment to your job, you continue to build strong relationships with your office’s target audiences, including prospective students, parents, college advisors, and members of the community. You have also gained privileged access to many high school classrooms, allowing you to forge close relationships with faculty and staff in those institutions. Just as your interpersonal skills have afforded you the opportunity to win the praise of many people outside of the College, you also have a strong work ethic, going above and beyond to help out in the areas where you have become a team member, including the Office of New Student Orientation, and the centers for Advising and Academic Success, and Student Accessibility. This has earned you the respect of your colleagues, especially when you volunteer your time to cover events after your paid hours have run out, and contribute your many valuable insights and ideas toward the improvement of the student experience.
Your professionalism and commitment inspire us all.
