Dolphin Award for Outstanding Service and Contribution to the College by a Member of the Non-Instructional Staff in Clerical Function: Erma Tacopino, CUNY College Assistant, Office of Reprographics
You began your tenure at the College of Staten Island in 2004 as a Part-Time College Assistant in the Office of Reprographics, eventually becoming a Full-Time Print Shop Assistant in 2010, and then moving to your current position in 2012. In your role, you must address a long list of responsibilities, which includes ordering supplies and stock, ensuring the most competitive price from vendors; placing service calls on Reprographics equipment as well as on more than 100 copiers campus-wide; maintaining Reprographics job requests; coordinating workflow; responding to email; and much more. You have also implemented a simple, flexible system for submitting jobs by email, making it more easy and attractive for faculty and staff to use Reprographics’ services, while greatly reducing the need to use departmental copiers. Under your management, the office’s turnaround time and reliability have continued to improve. Although you have more responsibilities than some of us could comprehend, you show nothing but professionalism, often working late or coming in early to get the job done properly and on time.
